Hong Kong Doctors

In August 2011, the Medical Council published a document entitled "Hong Kong Doctors" to set out the attributes and skills expected of local medical graduates. This document aims to provide a framework for the local medical faculties to design and fine-tune their medical curricula and schemes of assessment with a view to meeting the Council’s requirements. It has been used by the Council as a guide to review the structure and to evaluate the standard of undergraduate medical education and training of the local medical faculties for accreditation purpose. An updated version of the document was published in October 2017. Given the passage of time and changing landscape of medicine and healthcare system as well as the society, the Council has completed another review of the document in August 2025 with the assistance of its Education and Accreditation Committee.
