Registration of Medical Practitioners

Registration Requirements

Provisional Registration (Part II of the General Register)

According to section 12 of Medical Registration Ordinance, a person may apply for provisional registration if he / she:-

(a)
has passed the Licensing Examination or the qualifying examination for the award of a degree of medicine and surgery by the University of Hong Kong or The Chinese University of Hong Kong; and

(b)
has been engaged to undergo internship or assessment in approved hospitals under section 9(1) or 10A(1) of the Ordinance.

Any person who has been provisionally registered shall be deemed to be registered as far as is necessary to enable him / her to undergo the afore-mentioned internship or assessment, and for the other purposes stipulated under section 12 of the Ordinance.
